The game was interrupted in the 5th minute as a hen was let loose on the pitch.
Second leg
In the 31st minute, Internazionale's Giuseppe Bergomi was hit by an object thrown from the stands and had to be substituted. Internazionale asked UEFA to replay the game, claiming the object was a steel ball, but the game was not replayed.
Real Madrid won 3–2 on aggregate.
