The Surface Dial is a wheel that can adjust parameters, such as screen brightness, audio volume, or scroll position, on of Microsoft's all-in-one PC computer system called Surface Studio. It showed in the October 26, 2016 Microsoft event in NYC.[1][2][3]
The on-screen features of the Dial will initially only be compatible with the Studio, however Microsoft's Terry Myerson told Engadget that a firmware update will be released in early-2017 for the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 that will allow the on-screen functions to work with those devices.[4]
Surface Dial requires the Windows 10 "Anniversary Update" in order to function.[5]
