The Portuguese Catholic Diocese of Viana do Castelo (Latin: Dioecesis Vianensis Castelli), in the Norte Region, has existed since 1977. It is a suffragan of the archdiocese of Braga, with its see at Viana do Castelo.[1]
As of 2008, the bishop is José Augusto Martins Fernandes Pedreira, who was appointed in 1997.[2]
