Ponte in Valtellina is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Sondrio in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) northeast of Milan and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Sondrio. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,222 and an area of 69.5 square kilometres (26.8 sq mi).[1]
Ponte in Valtellina borders the following municipalities: Castello dell'Acqua, Chiuro, Montagna in Valtellina, Piateda, Teglio, Tresivio, Valbondione.
