Percalates is a recently resurrected genus containing the medium-sized, predatory, catadromous fish Australian bass (Percalates novemaculeata) and estuary perch (Percalates colonorum), which are endemic to coastal rivers and estuaries of south-eastern Australia. They have traditionally been included in Macquaria instead. They are highly valued recreational fishing species.
