Before graduating from Terre Haute North Vigo High School, he worked as a backing musician for Opry star Jean Shepard, then Joe Stampley before joining the band Palomino Road in 1992. This band recorded one album for Liberty Records.[2] After leaving Palomino Road, Corenflos worked on demos in the mid-1990s with Kenny Chesney.
