Dudley MacNeil Evans (1 December 1886 – 18 December 1972) was an English cricketer. Evans was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium.
Evans made his first-class debut for Hampshire in the 1904 County Championship, playing a single match against Sussex. Evans played three matches for Hampshire in 1905 and thereafter would not represent the county in first-class cricket again until the 1911 season, where Evans played eleven first-class matches for the county, with his final first-class match for the county coming against Lancashire.
In all, Evans played in fifteen first-class matches for Hampshire, scoring 361 runs at a batting average of 15.04, with two half centuries and high score of 64 against Yorkshire in 1911. With the ball Evans took 50 wickets for the county at a bowling average of 27.56, with three five wicket hauls and best figures of 6/81 against Derbyshire in 1911.
Evans also represented HDG Leveson-Gower's XI in a single first-class match against Cambridge University in 1911, where he took 5/56 in the Universities second innings.
Evans died at Petersfield, Hampshire on 18 December 1972.
Family
Evans brothers Alfred and William both played first-class cricket, as did his cousins Ralph and John Evans, with John playing Test cricket for England. Evans uncle Alfred Evans also played first-class cricket.
